Jacob Fearnley enters the Quebec City ATP Challenger first-round match as the higher-ranked player at No. 107 against No. 144 Mackenzie McDonald on outdoor hard courts. Fearnley’s 2026 hard-court results include a second-round run at the Montreal Masters after qualifying and a strong overall season with multiple Challenger titles on faster surfaces. McDonald has posted a 15-21 record this year, exiting early in Washington and Cincinnati with limited recent success on the surface. The 25-year-old Fearnley also holds an edge in recent form and athletic profile over the 31-year-old McDonald in what marks their first meeting. Both players arrived as alternates following North American hard-court swings, with the match outcome hinging on serve efficiency and baseline consistency in the opening round.
