AS Monaco enters the 2026/27 season positioned for the Ligue 1 Conference League play-off spot after finishing seventh in 2025/26, triggering a two-legged tie on 20-27 August under France’s UEFA coefficient allocation. The top three sides earn direct Champions League league-phase berths, fourth enters Champions League qualifying, fifth takes Europa League league phase, and sixth receives the second Europa League place, shifting the Conference League opportunity to seventh. Early 2026/27 results show Marseille, Lens, Lille, Lyon, and Monaco all opening with victories, while PSG drew its first match; these outcomes, combined with squad depth, injury reports, and fixture congestion from European ties, will shape the race for mid-table European qualification through the campaign.
