This market will resolve to the next individual who is officially appointed as High Representative for Bosnia and Herzegovina by December 31, 2026, 11:59 PM ET. To count for resolution, the individual must be officially appointed by Peace Implementation Council Steering Board. Any acting, interim, or caretaker High Representative will not count toward the resolution of this market. If no such High Representative is appointed by December 31, 2026, 11:59 PM ET, this market will resolve to “No HR in 2026”. The primary resolution source for this market will be official information from the Peace Implementation Council Steering Board and the Office of the High Representative for Bosnia and Herzegovina (https://www.ohr.int/); however, a consensus of credible reporting may also be used.The ongoing deadlock within the Peace Implementation Council over a permanent successor to Christian Schmidt, who resigned effective July 1, 2026, has left Louis J. Crishock serving as acting High Representative with full Bonn Powers. US support for Antonio Zanardi Landi has clashed with backing from several EU states for René Troccaz and other diplomats such as Peter Sørensen and Maurizio Massari, preventing consensus by the missed July 14 target and prompting Washington to signal reconsideration of its role in the Office of the High Representative.
