This market will resolve to “Yes” if Ilie Bolojan ceases to be Prime Minister of Romania for any period of time between market creation and the specified date (ET). Otherwise, this market will resolve to “No”. An announcement of Ilie Bolojan's resignation/removal before this market's end date will immediately resolve this market to "Yes", regardless of when the announced resignation/removal goes into effect. The resolution source for this market will be official information from Ilie Bolojan and the government of Romania; however, a consensus of credible reporting may also be used.**Romania's political crisis, triggered by the May 2026 no-confidence vote that ended Ilie Bolojan's coalition government, has left the National Liberal Party leader serving as caretaker prime minister since May 5.** He retains the role while parties negotiate a successor with full powers, amid stalled talks, failed PM-designate attempts, and parliamentary recess. Recent August developments center on passing PNRR-linked legislation, including the ANI integrity law and pay reforms, to unlock EU funds, alongside disputes with the Social Democrats and calls for budget rectification. Bolojan has stressed the need for a stable government when Parliament reconvenes in September to address deficits, issue ordinances, and avoid further instability. Key pressures include EU milestones, sovereign rating concerns, and the risk of snap elections favoring harder-right parties. No immediate resignation signals have emerged, though September negotiations on coalitions or minority arrangements could determine his departure timeline.
