Early in the 2026-27 Betway Premiership, all 16 sides sit at identical 49.5% implied probabilities for the most clean sheets because only three or four matches have been played and no team has established a sustained defensive edge. Orlando Pirates and Lamontville Golden Arrows lead early goalkeeping metrics with multiple shutouts, yet Mamelodi Sundowns, Kaizer Chiefs and AmaZulu have suffered defensive absences (Mudau, Mokoena, Johnson) that offset their usual organisation. Mid-table sides such as Durban City, Sekhukhune United and Stellenbosch have shown compact mid-blocks and low concession rates in limited fixtures, while transfers and fixture congestion keep roster depth uncertain. The wisdom of crowds therefore prices the race as wide open until a clearer hierarchy emerges across the 30-match campaign.
