**Gilberto Mora, the 17-year-old attacking midfielder from Club Tijuana, remains under contract through 2029 with a structured release clause after extending his deal last year.** His breakout performances at the 2026 FIFA World Cup—where he became one of Mexico’s youngest starters—sparked widespread European scouting, with confirmed interest from Real Madrid (his reported dream club), Manchester United, Arsenal, Liverpool, Barcelona, Manchester City, Chelsea, Borussia Dortmund, Benfica, and others including Bayern Munich and AC Milan. Tijuana’s owner has publicly stated the player will stay in Liga MX for at least the current season to comply with FIFA minor-transfer rules and aid his development, keeping any move to the January or summer 2027 windows. This long-term horizon, combined with a high valuation (around €23–25 million), the involvement of super-agent Rafaela Pimenta, and no formal bids yet, has produced a tightly bunched market. Trader consensus reflects the open race among multiple suitors rather than any single club holding a decisive edge.
