Mid-season standings in Chile's Primera B (Liga de Ascenso) show a tight race after 21 rounds, with Santiago Wanderers and Cobreloa tied at 38 points atop the table, followed closely by Magallanes (35), Antofagasta and Unión Española (34 each), and a cluster of clubs between 30-32 points. The promotion format—one direct ascent for the regular-season champion plus a Liguilla playoff for positions 2-8—keeps implied probabilities bunched among 12-14 contenders, as recent form, goal difference, and head-to-head results continue to shift the leaderboard without creating decisive separation. Teams like Deportes Santa Cruz and Rangers sit far off the pace with single-digit points totals and limited realistic paths to promotion.
