The Hawks secured top-four status with a dominant 62-point win over West Coast to close the home-and-away rounds, while Collingwood sits ninth at 12-9-2 after a late-season draw with Hawthorn and mixed results. Collingwood’s depth has been severely tested by multiple long-term injuries, including ACLs to Jamie Elliott, Reef McInnes, Darcy Moore, and Oscar Steene, plus hamstring issues sidelining key players into 2027. Hawthorn’s relatively clean injury list and recent momentum, including strong contributions from forwards like Jack Gunston, further support the market’s assessment of the matchup dynamics.
