Bayern Munich’s continued dominance and strong defensive organization under Vincent Kompany keep Manuel Neuer in contention despite fewer appearances in recent seasons, while Borussia Dortmund’s league-best concession record last term and Gregor Kobel’s proven consistency anchor his position. Moritz Nicolas at Gladbach and Alexander Nübel’s track record add depth, with other established starters like Michael Zetterer and Oliver Baumann benefiting from solid mid-table setups. Early 2026-27 matchday results and pre-season form have not yet created separation, as squad depth, fixture difficulty, and potential rotation or injuries across 34 rounds maintain a tight race among multiple viable candidates according to current trader pricing.
