The 2026-27 Liga FPD season remains wide open after the first five rounds of the Apertura, with no team establishing a sustained defensive edge in clean sheets amid a league where shutouts occur in over half of matches. Early leaders like Deportivo Saprissa sit atop the table on attacking output, while Inter de San Carlos, Cartaginés, and Sporting San José have posted multiple clean sheets in limited fixtures; traditional powers LD Alajuelense, CS Herediano, and CS Cartaginés maintain historical parity in defensive organization. Roster stability, goalkeeper form, and schedule congestion across the full Apertura-Clausura cycle sustain even implied probabilities, as any side can accumulate the most shutouts over the remaining schedule.
