This market will resolve to "Yes" if a team from the state of Texas wins the 2027 NFL championship game (scheduled for February 14, 2027) or the 2027 College Football Playoff National Championship Game (scheduled for January 25, 2027). Otherwise, this market will resolve to "No". The NFL teams from the state of Texas are the Dallas Cowboys and the Houston Texans. The FBS teams from the state of Texas are Baylor, Houston, North Texas, Rice, Sam Houston, SMU, TCU, Texas, Texas A&M, Texas State, Texas Tech, UTEP, and UTSA. If at any point it becomes impossible for every one of these teams to win its respective championship game, this market will resolve to "No". If both championship games are cancelled, postponed after March 31, 2027, 11:59 PM ET, or no champion has been declared in either game within that timeframe, this market will resolve to "No". If only one of the two games is played and decided within that timeframe, this market will resolve according to that game. The primary resolution sources will be official information from the NFL (https://www.nfl.com/) and the College Football Playoff (https://collegefootballplayoff.com); however, a consensus of credible reporting may also be used.Texas college programs, particularly the Longhorns and Aggies, enter the 2026 season among the top national championship contenders, with Texas frequently listed in the top five of early odds thanks to quarterback Arch Manning, a loaded roster featuring multiple projected 2027 first-round NFL Draft picks, and elite in-state recruiting depth. The Dallas Cowboys and Houston Texans project as playoff-caliber teams with roughly nine-win expectations but lack the roster dominance or recent Super Bowl pedigree to serve as heavy favorites. This split—solid but not overwhelming NFL representation paired with high-end college title potential—underpins the market’s even 50% implied probability. Key variables that could shift sentiment include Manning’s 2026 performance and health, Texas A&M’s defensive stability, injury developments or roster changes for the Cowboys and Texans, and how both states’ programs navigate demanding schedules against top conference competition.
