The Big 12’s 2026 rushing touchdown race remains wide open after one week of play, with no player holding a meaningful edge in implied probability. Depth across the conference drives the tight market: returning standouts such as BYU’s LJ Martin (12 rushing TDs in 2025 as Offensive Player of the Year), Texas Tech’s Cameron Dickey (league-high 14), Utah’s Wayshawn Parker, and transfers including West Virginia’s Cam Cook and Oklahoma State’s Caleb Hawkins all enter with proven production and favorable offensive contexts. Additional contenders like TCU’s Jeremy Payne, Baylor’s Dawson Pendergrass (healthy after missing 2025), Kansas State’s Joe Jackson, and several unproven but high-upside backs create further dispersion. Early-season factors including committee backfields, quarterback distribution, offensive line health, and schedule strength have yet to separate the field, leaving trader consensus reflecting broad parity rather than any single frontrunner.
