Bundesliga as the pre-season favorite with the highest squad value and resources after relegation from the top flight, yet the outright winner market remains tightly bunched because multiple clubs share comparable strengths in experience, depth, and recent momentum.** Relegated sides like Hertha BSC, VfL Bochum, 1. FC Heidenheim, and FC St. Pauli join established 2. Bundesliga contenders such as Hannover 96, 1. FC Nürnberg, SV Darmstadt 98, and Karlsruher SC, each bolstered by summer transfers and solid pre-season showings. Early matchday results after the August 7 start highlight the parity, with Nürnberg and Hertha topping the table on six points while Wolfsburg sits fourth. This balance—rooted in home/away splits, head-to-head history, and the absence of a clear standout—keeps implied probabilities clustered, reflecting trader consensus on a wide-open promotion race through May 2027.
