The Croatian HNL's 2026-27 runner-up market remains tightly contested because Dinamo Zagreb's early dominance (undefeated after three matches with a +8 goal difference) has left the chase for second place wide open among a cluster of clubs with comparable squad depth and summer reinforcements. NK Osijek and NK Varaždin have posted strong starts with nine points each through four rounds, bolstered by arrivals such as defender Marcel Heister at Osijek, while HNK Hajduk Split and HNK Rijeka rely on attacking talent like Marko Livaja amid key departures. NK Lokomotiva Zagreb and others sit close in implied probability as pre-season models projected minimal separation behind the champions, and the first handful of results have yet to establish lasting separation in a 10-team league where mid-table sides frequently trade results.
