This market will resolve “Yes” if any player throws a Perfect Game in any game during the 2026 MLB season (including postseason). Otherwise, this market will resolve to “No”. A “Perfect Game” is achieved when a pitcher throws a complete game without allowing a baserunner. If the 2026 MLB season is cancelled, postponed after November 30, 2026, 11:59 PM ET, or it cannot be determined if a Perfect Game occurred within that timeframe, this market will resolve to “No”. The resolution source for this market will be official information from the MLB; however, a consensus of credible reporting may also be used.**Modern MLB pitching strategies, combined with the extreme historical rarity of perfect games, underpin the 95% trader consensus against one occurring in 2026.** Only 24 perfect games have been thrown in MLB history, with the most recent in 2023; none have occurred through late August 2026 despite a full slate of games. A perfect game demands a starter retire all 27 batters without any reaching base via hit, walk, error, or hit-by-pitch—typically requiring a complete game of nine innings with elite command and defense. Contemporary factors make this feat rarer still. Starters face strict pitch-count limits and early hooks to protect arms and preserve bullpen flexibility, producing far fewer complete games than in prior eras. League-wide offensive environments, strong contact hitting (exemplified by leaders like Yordan Alvarez), and deeper lineups increase baserunner odds. One combined no-hitter has been recorded this season, but no-hitters themselves convert to perfect games infrequently. With roughly 30-40 games remaining per team before the September 27 regular-season close and no near-misses dominating recent headlines, the "wisdom of crowds" reflected in current pricing treats another perfect game as a low-probability outlier rather than an expected outcome.
