The resolution source for this market will be official information from MLB; however, a consensus of credible reporting may also be used.Yordan Alvarez holds a commanding lead in 2026 intentional walks with 28, well ahead of Shohei Ohtani at 16 and the rest of the field, driving the market's 98.2% implied probability for the Astros designated hitter. His elite production—leading qualified American League hitters in batting average, home runs, RBIs, OPS, and on-base percentage—prompts opposing managers to issue free passes in high-leverage spots, including a franchise-record three in one recent game that broke Jeff Bagwell's team mark. With roughly a month remaining, other contenders would require substantial late surges or Alvarez absences from the lineup to close the gap, though his consistent plate appearances and power profile make significant shifts unlikely based on current form and roster trends.
