Recent Léger and other polls show the Parti Québécois leading at around 30 percent, with the Coalition Avenir Québec and Parti libéral du Québec tied near 23 percent and the Parti conservateur du Québec at 16 percent ahead of the October 5 vote. This fragmented support, combined with regional divides between francophone ridings favoring the PQ and CAQ and Montreal-area strength for the PLQ, leaves multiple parties in contention for third place in seats or popular vote. CAQ gains under new leader Christine Fréchette have come partly at Québec solidaire’s expense while PCQ momentum under Éric Duhaime adds further uncertainty, especially outside Greater Montreal. High undecided voter shares and second-choice volatility mean small shifts during the campaign could reorder the middle of the field without altering the PQ’s likely first-place position.
