The resolution source for this market is Pyth — specifically, the South Korea ETF (EWY) "High" and "Low" prices available at https://pythdata.app/explore/Equity.US.EWY%2FUSD, with the chart settings configured for 1-minute candles. Historical 1-minute candles may be accessed by appending a Unix timestamp (seconds) to the Pyth chart URL using the "t=" parameter. The benchmark KOSPI fluctuated sharply around 6,700-6,800 levels, closing the week modestly lower after rebounding from early losses tied to chip concerns. Key catalysts included the Bank of Korea's back-to-back 25-basis-point rate hikes to 3.00%, Nvidia's earnings results, and U.S. Treasury yield movements, which influenced foreign flows and risk appetite. Record EWY inflows earlier in the summer underscored its role as a proxy for Korean memory-chip exposure amid ADR premiums, though elevated beta and sector concentration amplified sensitivity to global tech sentiment and monetary policy shifts.
