Multiple tracks remain deadlocked in the race for the number two spot on Spotify's US chart heading into the September 4 update, with trader consensus splitting evenly at 50% implied probability across several leading contenders. Recent streaming trajectories show these songs trading daily plays within tight margins, fueled by comparable playlist momentum, fan-driven saves, and social media engagement rather than a single breakout. Release timing, cross-platform promotion, and competition from established catalog tracks are the primary differentiators, while lower-odds options like Malcolm Todd's "Earrings" at 24.5% or Olivia Rodrigo cuts near 5% reflect narrower audience reach and historical chart patterns. The final daily tallies before lock could still tip the balance.
