Mercedes leads the 2026 F1 Constructors’ Championship by a wide margin after a dominant start under the new technical regulations, securing eight wins and consistent double points finishes that built an insurmountable early buffer. Andrea Kimi Antonelli and George Russell delivered multiple victories and podiums through mid-season, while Ferrari and McLaren lagged in development before accelerating upgrades in recent rounds. McLaren’s strong packages since Hungary and Ferrari’s engine and aero steps have narrowed the on-track gap—evident in Norris’s back-to-back wins and tighter qualifying—but Mercedes’ points advantage remains robust despite slower recent development pace tied to cost-cap allocation. A late-season surge by rivals or Mercedes reliability setbacks could narrow the title race, though the current standings reflect a clear early-season edge.
