The 2026-27 Botola Pro season opens with 16 teams after an expansion plan to 20 clubs failed to gain consensus, leaving the league format and relegation structure unchanged ahead of the August 28 draw. Pre-season uncertainty is acute for the 14th-place spot, which typically triggers play-offs against Botola 2 sides. Recent campaigns featured tight mid-to-lower table clusters, with teams such as Union Touarga, Hassania Agadir, Renaissance Zemamra, and CODM Meknès often separated by just a handful of points or goal difference on the final day. Newly promoted sides including Moghreb Tétouan, Widad Témara, and Amal Tiznit add further variability to squad depth and adaptation, while established clubs focus resources on European qualification. This parity produces a wide field of plausible candidates for exactly 14th, reflected in the clustered trader pricing across the listed sides.
