Both the Denver Broncos and Los Angeles Chargers enter 2026 with comparable overall talent and projected win totals near nine or 10 in a tight AFC West race that also includes the Chiefs. The Broncos return as defending division champions with continuity under Sean Payton, a strong defense, and additions like wide receiver Jaylen Waddle to support quarterback Bo Nix. The Chargers feature new offensive coordinator Mike McDaniel paired with Justin Herbert for an expected uptick in explosiveness, yet they face notable offensive line setbacks, including center Tyler Biadasz’s season-ending knee injury and lingering questions around tackle Rashawn Slater. Their two head-to-head matchups—one in each venue—sit amid comparable schedule difficulty, supporting trader consensus around a series split as the most probable outcome.
