Recent polling shows the Texas U.S. Senate contest between Democrat James Talarico and Republican Ken Paxton remains highly competitive, with results within the margin of error and frequent leads under five points, while Republican incumbent Greg Abbott holds a steadier 5- to 7-point edge over Democrat Gina Hinojosa in the gubernatorial race. Trader consensus on the combo market reflects this divergence, as Paxton's primary victory over John Cornyn and subsequent general-election positioning have produced weaker Republican cohesion than Abbott's established incumbency advantages. Key factors sustaining the tightness include elevated undecided shares, independent voters breaking toward Talarico in multiple surveys, and turnout patterns among Latino and younger demographics that have narrowed historical Republican margins. Further separation could emerge from final-quarter advertising volume, candidate debates, or shifts in voter economic sentiment ahead of November 3.

A candidate will be considered to represent a party by their ballot-listed affiliation or if they are the nominee of that party. Candidates who run as independents will not be encompassed by the “Democrat” or “Republican” options regardless of any affiliation they may have with the party.
If the results of these elections are not conclusively known by March 31, 2027, or if an independent or third-party candidate wins one of these elections, this market will resolve to "Other".
The resolution source for this market is the Associated Press, Fox News, and NBC. This market will resolve once all three sources have conclusively called the relevant Senate and Gubernatorial elections. If all three sources do not achieve consensus in calling the relevant races for this market, it will resolve based on the official certification.
