The Cowboys visit the Giants on Sunday Night Football to open the 2026 season, marking John Harbaugh’s head-coaching debut with New York after the team’s 4-13 finish in 2025. Dallas enters as a roughly three-point road favorite behind Dak Prescott’s strong historical numbers against the Giants and an offense featuring CeeDee Lamb and George Pickens, while both lines face scrutiny—Tyler Smith’s absence hurts the Cowboys’ front and New York’s revamped trenches aim to set a physical tone. Malik Nabers’ questionable knee status and the absence of injured Cowboys back Malik Davis add uncertainty to game scripts and broadcast narratives around passing attacks, rookie quarterbacks, and early-season adjustments in the NFC East.
