This market will resolve according to the person who is appointed as the next permanent manager of the Philadelphia Phillies. If no permanent manager is appointed by January 31, 2027, 11:59 PM ET, the market will resolve to "Other." Appointments of 'interim,' 'caretaker,' or other non-permanent managers will not impact this market's resolution. An announcement of a new permanent manager's appointment before this market's close date will immediately resolve this market to the corresponding option, regardless of when the announced appointment goes into effect. The primary resolution source for this market will be official information from the Philadelphia Phillies; however, a consensus of credible reporting may also be used.**Alex Cora leads trader consensus at 39.4% for the Phillies' next permanent manager primarily due to his close relationship with president of baseball operations Dave Dombrowski, who offered him the role in April 2026 immediately after Cora's firing by the Red Sox.** Cora declined at the time to prioritize family but remains the frontrunner heading into the offseason barring an extraordinary Phillies playoff run. Interim manager Don Mattingly sits at 14.0% after guiding the club from a 9-19 start to strong contention (roughly 64-41 under him), though reports indicate he must reach the World Series or win it to earn the full-time job. Supporting candidates such as Will Venable (12.3%) and Ryan Flaherty (9.7%) reflect interest in internal or coaching-staff options, while the Phillies' improved form and Dombrowski's extension through 2027 continue to shape the market around front-office preferences and performance thresholds.
