The 2026 season series between the Houston Texans and Indianapolis Colts features two matchups (September 27 at Lucas Oil Stadium and November 19 at NRG Stadium), with trader consensus heavily favoring a 1-1 split at 47% implied probability. The Texans hold a modest 35% edge while the Colts sit at just 12.5%, consistent with preseason projections placing Houston around 9.3 wins and Indianapolis near 8.3–8.6 in a tight AFC South race also featuring the Jacksonville Jaguars. Recent developments underscore this positioning. The Texans enter with one of the NFL’s elite defenses (top-ranked in points and yards allowed last season) anchored by edge rushers like Danielle Hunter and Will Anderson Jr., though wide receiver Jayden Higgins is sidelined for the year with a torn ACL. The Colts, projected third in the division, benefit from added depth and the return of quarterback Daniel Jones from injury but face a tougher early schedule and questions at skill positions. Historical trends show the Texans sweeping the series in both 2024 and 2025, yet the teams’ comparable overall talent and divisional stakes make clean sweeps less probable than a split in the eyes of the market.
