This market will resolve to the team defense and special teams (D/ST) unit that finishes Week 1 of the 2026-27 NFL regular season as the highest-scoring D/ST under the default scoring of ESPN Fantasy Sports. Only games designated by the NFL as Week 1 of the 2026-27 regular season count. If two or more units are tied for the most fantasy points in Week 1, this market will resolve in favor of the tied unit whose team name comes first alphabetically. If the highest-scoring D/ST in Week 1 of the 2026-27 NFL regular season is not a listed unit, this market will resolve to "Other". If Week 1 of the 2026-27 NFL regular season is cancelled, postponed past September 30, 2026, 11:59 PM ET, or a leader cannot be determined within this timeframe, this market will resolve to "Other". The resolution source will be official Week 1 statistics as reported by ESPN Fantasy Sports (https://www.espn.com/fantasy/).The 2026 NFL Week 1 D/ST fantasy points leader market remains tightly bunched because no single defense stands out amid balanced early-season matchups and limited preseason clarity. Defenses like the Jaguars against the Browns, Chargers versus the Cardinals, Steelers hosting the Falcons, Titans facing the Jets, and Rams meeting the 49ers draw comparable support in expert projections for sacks, turnovers, and scoring opportunities. Road tests for units such as the Broncos at the Chiefs and Ravens at the Colts add further parity, while factors like home-field edges, opponent implied totals, and roster health spread projected production evenly. With outcomes hinging on unpredictable variables including weather, injuries, and game scripts, trader consensus reflects broad uncertainty rather than any dominant favorite.
