This market will resolve according to the individual who leads the next White House press briefing following the creation of this market. Resolution is based on who actually delivers the briefing from the podium, not on who is listed or announced in advance. If the individual scheduled or announced to give a briefing does not ultimately lead it, this market will resolve to the individual who does. An individual who appears at a qualifying briefing only as a guest, or who speaks only after being introduced by the individual leading the briefing, will not qualify. For the purposes of this market, a White House press briefing is an event listed on the public White House schedule as a press briefing. Any such briefing will qualify, even if the individual leading it has not been formally announced as the Press Secretary or as an acting or interim Press Secretary. "New Media" briefings and special briefings including additional guests will qualify, so long as the individual leads the briefing. Impromptu press gaggles, and remarks that are not listed on the public schedule as a press briefing, will not qualify. If two or more individuals jointly lead the next qualifying briefing, this market will resolve to the individual who speaks first. If no qualifying White House press briefing occurs by September 30, 2026, 11:59 PM ET, this market will resolve to "Other". This market will resolve based on footage of the briefing, as indicated by a consensus of credible reporting. The White House press briefing market reflects broad uncertainty, with numerous potential spokespeople trading near even odds as traders weigh several administration figures for the role. Marco Rubio leads the named options at 31 cents while Stephen Miller, JD Vance, and others trail at single or low double digits, indicating dispersed expectations rather than consensus around any individual. Factors sustaining the tight pricing include the absence of a confirmed permanent press secretary, routine rotation among deputies and senior aides for daily briefings, and the administration’s emphasis on direct messaging from multiple officials. Scheduled events such as upcoming congressional hearings, policy rollouts, or personnel announcements could consolidate probability on one candidate, while continued use of acting or ad-hoc briefers would likely keep the field competitive.
