The wide distribution of implied probabilities around 50% for numerous NFL quarterbacks underscores the inherent uncertainty of Week 1 passing volume, driven by parity across offenses, variable game scripts, and limited preseason clarity on usage. New coordinators, fresh weapons, and confirmed starters create similar opportunity sets for players like Justin Fields, Jalen Hurts, Josh Allen, and Patrick Mahomes, while factors such as home/away splits, defensive matchups, and potential weather in outdoor venues add volatility. Recent training camp reports and injury designations have not produced a clear volume leader, keeping the field tightly bunched as traders weigh historical Week 1 trends against current roster health and schedule difficulty.
