This market will resolve according to the total number of valid votes cast in the 2026 midterm election for Governor of Vermont. If the reported value falls exactly between two brackets, then this market will resolve to the higher range bracket. If the results of the specified election are not definitively known by March 31, 2027, 11:59 PM ET, this market will resolve to the lowest range bracket. All votes certified for candidates or non-candidate options in the specified election are included. Invalidated or blank votes are not included. In ranked-choice or preferential systems, the first-round vote total will be used. The primary resolution source for this market will be the official results of the 2026 midterm election for Governor of Vermont, as published by the state electoral authority responsible for certifying the results of the election; however, an overwhelming consensus of credible reporting may also be used.Vermont's November 3 gubernatorial contest features closely matched probabilities across the 275,000–350,000 vote brackets because historical general election turnout has fluctuated between roughly 292,000 and 373,000 ballots amid a registered voter base near 500,000, with 2022 midterm participation notably lower than presidential-year levels. The August 11 primaries delivered higher-than-anticipated turnout of about 112,000 ballots or 22 percent, concentrated in the Democratic nomination race won by Amanda Janoo, yet offered only modest signals for general election mobilization in a contest where incumbent Phil Scott maintains a substantial lead in available polling. Recent federal developments, including a Supreme Court ruling affecting mail-in procedures and related executive actions, have introduced uncertainty around Vermont's universal vote-by-mail system that state officials continue preparing to implement, potentially influencing participation rates depending on final implementation and voter response.
