This market will resolve to “Yes” if the listed Designated Contract Market (DCM) self-certifies sports-related event-based contracts with the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) between market creation and December 31, 2026, 11:59 PM ET. Otherwise, this market will resolve to “No”. The primary resolution source will be official information released by the CFTC or the respective DCM; however, a consensus of credible reporting will also be used.CFTC advisories from March and July 2026, plus a June proposed rulemaking on public-interest reviews, have clarified self-certification rules under Regulation 40.2 for sports event contracts, allowing DCMs to list objective contracts on scores, wins, stats, or tournament outcomes without broad templates. This framework, paired with federal preemption wins and zero blocks on roughly 2,500 recent filings, supports trader expectations that active platforms like Kalshi will continue certifying compliant sports products through year-end.
