The resolution source for this market will be official information from the Australian government and Anthony Albanese; however, a consensus of credible reporting may also be used.**As of late August 2026, Anthony Albanese remains firmly in office following Labor’s landslide 2025 federal election victory that delivered a substantial House majority.** Recent polling (YouGov, Roy Morgan, DemosAU, Newspoll) shows Labor primary support at 27–29%, narrowly ahead of One Nation (26–27%) and well clear of the Coalition (21%), with Labor holding two-party-preferred leads of 52–56% against both. Albanese’s net approval sits in negative territory (around –19 to –24), yet he continues to lead preferred-prime-minister match-ups. He has publicly committed to serving a full term and contesting the next election (due by May 2028, earliest window from August 2027), with no credible internal Labor challenge or resignation signals reported. Key variables for traders include any further erosion in Labor’s primary vote, One Nation’s trajectory, and the outcome of the November 2026 Victorian state election as a potential bellwether. No major policy reversals, scandals, or parliamentary triggers have emerged in the past month to alter the current stability.
