This market will resolve according to the total number of valid votes cast in the 2026 midterm election for Senator from Illinois. If the reported value falls exactly between two brackets, then this market will resolve to the higher range bracket. If the results of the specified election are not definitively known by March 31, 2027, 11:59 PM ET, this market will resolve to the lowest range bracket. All votes certified for candidates or non-candidate options in the specified election are included. Invalidated or blank votes are not included. In ranked-choice or preferential systems, the first-round vote total will be used. The primary resolution source for this market will be the official results of the 2026 midterm election for Senator from Illinois, as published by the state electoral authority responsible for certifying the results of the election; however, an overwhelming consensus of credible reporting may also be used.Democratic enthusiasm from the March 2026 Senate primary, which drew roughly 1.28 million votes and marked a nearly 50% jump over 2022 levels, has shaped expectations for November turnout in the open Illinois Senate race between Democrat Juliana Stratton and Republican Don Tracy. Traders see this “rage turnout” dynamic, fueled by opposition to the Trump administration, as a potential offset against the typical midterm drop-off from the 2024 presidential election’s 63.3% participation rate. The race’s Solid Democratic rating and absence of a tight contest limit mobilization on both sides, while Illinois’ structural turnout patterns in non-presidential years—averaging near 46% of eligible voters—keep projected totals clustered in the 3–4.75 million range. Recent primary momentum and national political climate create competing pressures that sustain tight probabilities across multiple outcome buckets without a clear consensus on final volume.
