Recent polling in the Federal District shows a competitive first-round contest for the October 4 presidential election, with Datafolha placing Flávio Bolsonaro (PL) ahead at 39% to incumbent Lula’s (PT) 31%, while Quaest finds them nearly tied at 26-28%. Traders assign Flávio an 84.5% implied probability of finishing first locally, reflecting the DF’s consistent historical preference for bolsonarista candidates in prior cycles and the consolidation of right-leaning support behind the Liberal Party nominee following his July convention and August campaign launch. Minor candidates including Ronaldo Caiado, Romeu Zema, and Renan Santos register in single digits and remain distant. Lula’s 15.5% price aligns with his narrower path in this electorate despite stronger performance elsewhere. Scheduled debates and final registration decisions, including Pablo Marçal’s eligibility review, represent the main near-term variables.
