Recent polls from mid-to-late August 2026 for Cusco’s October 4 municipal election show a fragmented field, with Albert Arenas Yabar (PRIN) leading in some surveys around 25-35% while Sergio Sullca Condori (Venceremos), William Peña Farfán (Perú Primero), and others trail in the teens or single digits amid high undecided shares. Twelve candidates registered, including district mayors and returning figures, with campaigns focusing on local infrastructure, tourism management, and regional identity. The absence of a dominant frontrunner or late-breaking consolidations keeps implied probabilities closely bunched, as traders weigh poll volatility, turnout in urban versus peripheral districts, and potential last-minute alliances or disqualifications before voting.
