With the 2027 Oscars Best Makeup and Hairstyling race still early, trader sentiment shows a tight field driven by anticipated demand for prosthetics and transformative styling in unreleased 2026 titles. Dune: Part Three and Digger lead at roughly 25% implied probability on the strength of their sci-fi and action visuals, while biopics like Michael and effects-heavy projects such as Clayface, Werwulf, and The Odyssey sit just behind, reflecting historical Academy preference for genre and period work requiring standout hair and makeup teams. Guild buzz, first-look footage, and production updates will serve as key swing factors before nominations solidify.
