Russia's Supreme Court removed Yabloko's federal party list from the September 2026 State Duma ballot on August 10 after a Rodina lawsuit citing copyright and extremist slogan issues, with the appeal later rejected. This exclusion, amid prior disqualifications of candidates over extremism charges and foreign agent designations, prevents the liberal anti-war party from competing for proportional representation seats. Official and state-aligned polls had placed Yabloko at 1-3% nationally in prior months—well below the 5% threshold—with private surveys showing higher but still insufficient urban support. Traders' near-certain view that the party will not clear the threshold reflects this structural barrier. Limited remaining avenues, such as a successful further legal reversal before voting concludes on September 20, represent the primary residual uncertainty.
