Recent Infratest dimap polling conducted days before the September 6 election shows the AfD leading at 42 percent while the CDU holds second at 22 percent, ahead of The Left on 11 percent. This gap has remained stable across multiple surveys from INSA and Pollytix throughout August, reflecting consistent voter preferences in the eastern state. The Left, SPD, Greens, BSW, and FDP trail further behind, with the latter two parties projected below the five-percent threshold for Landtag entry. CDU support has declined modestly from prior cycles but shows no sign of dropping below challengers. A sudden late swing toward The Left or another minor party represents the primary scenario that could alter second-place positioning before election night.
