Recent late-August polls from Infratest dimap and Forschungsgruppe Wahlen show the AfD holding a commanding lead at 40-42% ahead of the September 6 vote, roughly doubling its 2021 result while the CDU falls to 22-23%. With the five-percent threshold excluding the BSW and FDP and allowing the Left, SPD, and Greens to enter, seat projections place the AfD in the high 30s to low 40s out of 83 total seats—short of the 42 needed for a majority. No other party will form a coalition with the AfD, and uncommitted voters remain around 10-30% with minimal recent movement in the numbers. These dynamics anchor trader consensus on the 38-41 seat band as the most probable outcome.
