**Union Centriste currently holds 59 seats in the French Senate, with 30 of them renewing on September 27, 2026.** Trader consensus around 59-61 seats reflects expectations of broad stability, as group president Hervé Marseille has emphasized that recent municipal gains (such as in Mulhouse and Cholet) should offset isolated losses in other departments. The indirect electoral college, composed of local officials, favors continuity for the centrist group amid a right-center local majority that supports the Senate's overall right-center dominance alongside Les Républicains. No major national polling or late shifts have altered this outlook in recent weeks, though the Rassemblement National's push for its first Senate group and left-wing efforts to consolidate lists introduce minor uncertainty in specific departments. Outcomes in the 56-64 range dominate probabilities because the system rewards established local networks over dramatic swings, with UC positioned to maintain its role in the majority without significant net change.
