Recent polls for Berlin’s September 20 Abgeordnetenhaus election show Die Linke leading with 19-22 percent, while CDU and AfD cluster near 18 percent and the Greens hold around 16 percent, with SPD trailing. This volatility, including Linke gains and alternating leads between CDU and AfD in successive surveys, sustains trader focus on CDU and AfD for second place. The current CDU-SPD coalition faces pressure after a major power outage and leadership change, while AfD momentum reflects broader national trends. Tight margins among the top three parties, combined with limited support for smaller lists and uncertain coalition arithmetic, keep implied probabilities for second place closely contested between CDU and AfD.
