Raphaël Glucksmann leads the 2026 French Socialist Party presidential primary as the clear frontrunner for the first-round outcome, reflecting his stronger national polling among social-democratic voters, endorsements from figures such as Anne Hidalgo and Yannick Jadot, and his positioning as the candidate best able to consolidate center-left support ahead of the 2027 presidential election. The two-round electronic primary, set for 9–10 and 16–17 October, pits him against Olivier Faure, whose late entry as PS first secretary has narrowed but not overturned the gap, along with lower-profile entrants including Jérôme Guedj, Philippe Brun, Ségolène Royal, and Emmanuel Maurel. Recent developments, including formal candidate declarations in late August and early September plus Glucksmann’s rejection of broader left-wing primary expansions, have reinforced trader consensus around his advantage while leaving room for shifts before voting begins.
