Elif Eralp of Die Linke leads the market for Berlin's next governing mayor due to her party's position atop recent state election polls at around 22 percent ahead of the September 20 Abgeordnetenhaus vote, which favors prospects for a left-leaning coalition. The July withdrawal of incumbent Kai Wegner as CDU lead candidate, citing crisis management concerns, and his replacement by finance senator Stefan Evers contributed to softer CDU support near 18-20 percent in surveys. Evers, Krach of the SPD, and Graf of the Greens trail in hypothetical direct mayor polls and market pricing consistent with their parties' standings, while lower-probability outcomes reflect limited polling traction for other listed contenders. Traders' consensus incorporates these party dynamics and coalition arithmetic in the weeks before election day.
