This market will resolve to the next individual who is officially appointed and sworn in as Prime Minister of Greece following the next parliamentary election. If an election is called early, this market will immediately resolve to the individual who is officially appointed and sworn in after that election. To count for resolution, the individual must be formally sworn-in by the specified date. Any interim or caretaker Prime Minister will not count toward the resolution of this market. If no such Prime Minister takes office by December 31, 2027, 11:59 PM ET, this market will resolve to “Other”. This market will resolve based on a consensus of credible reporting. If there is ambiguity, this market will resolve solely based on official information from the Greek government.**Kyriakos Mitsotakis holds an 78.5% implied probability as the next Greek prime minister, reflecting New Democracy’s consistent polling lead and the confirmed timeline for elections in spring 2027.** Recent surveys, including the late-August Interview/Politic poll, place ND at 26.5% (12 points ahead of Alexis Tsipras’s ELAS at 14.5%), with Mitsotakis personally favored by 29.3% as the leader best suited to govern. He has repeatedly ruled out an autumn snap election, emphasizing completion of the full term, infrastructure projects, agricultural subsidies, and the launch of an “Agenda 2030” economic and social roadmap ahead of the Thessaloniki International Fair. Opposition fragmentation sustains the gap. Tsipras’s ELAS has slipped in recent polling while other challengers such as PASOK’s Nikos Androulakis, Hellenic Solution’s Kyriakos Velopoulos, and smaller-party figures (including Maria Karystianou and Zoe Konstantopoulou) trail further behind. Mitsotakis’s focus on fiscal restraint, middle-class support measures, and EU-related priorities through Greece’s 2027 Council presidency reinforces trader consensus on continuity. Low-probability names and joke entries (such as Giannis Antetokounmpo) remain marginal given the structural advantages of incumbency and the single-ballot preference expressed by most voters.
