This market will resolve according to the location of the next meeting between Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Vladimir Putin by December 31, 2026, 11:59 PM ET. If no meeting takes place by December 31 ET, this market will resolve to "No meeting before 2027". A meeting is defined as any encounter where Zelenskyy and Putin are both present and interact with each other in person. For the purpose of this market, a meeting held on Ukrainian territory under the de facto control of Russia (e.g., Crimea) will be considered part of Russia. The primary resolution source for this market will be a consensus of credible reporting.Russian President Vladimir Putin has repeatedly rejected direct bilateral meetings with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy absent prior agreements on core issues such as territorial concessions and long-term security arrangements, with the most recent public rebuff occurring in June 2026 following Zelenskyy’s open letter and proposals for talks at the G7 or in the United States. Formal trilateral negotiations involving U.S. mediators stalled earlier in 2026 amid the U.S.-Iran conflict, and Kremlin statements through July indicated no immediate prospects for resumption. Ongoing military operations, static front lines, and mutual strikes on infrastructure have further reduced incentives for a leader-level summit. The market’s strong preference for no meeting before 2027 reflects this entrenched diplomatic impasse. A sudden U.S.-brokered breakthrough or major escalation could still shift conditions within the resolution window.
