This market will resolve to "Yes" if Rep. Ilhan Omar is officially deported from the United States by December 31, 2026, 11:59 PM ET. Otherwise, this market will resolve to "No." Deportation is defined as the formal removal of Omar from the US by government authorities due to legal or administrative reasons. Voluntary departure, extradition, or relocation without an official deportation order will not count. A removal order that has not been implemented will not be sufficient to resolve this market. The resolution source will be credible reporting from major news outlets or official government statements.Ilhan Omar, a naturalized U.S. citizen since 2000 after arriving as a Somali refugee, faces no active denaturalization proceedings or deportation order as of late August 2026 despite public calls from President Trump and some Republican lawmakers citing long-standing allegations of immigration or marriage fraud tied to Minnesota cases. U.S. law requires the Department of Justice to prove willful misrepresentation in a federal court before citizenship can be revoked, after which removal proceedings could begin—a process that remains rare and has not advanced to filing. Ongoing ICE record reviews and political statements have not produced charges or court action capable of resolving within the calendar year. Trader consensus reflects these structural barriers under immigration statutes and constitutional protections for citizens. Late developments such as a sudden successful denaturalization suit or new criminal convictions triggering immigration consequences could still shift the outlook before year-end.
