This market will resolve according to the total precipitation in mm at Heathrow (London Airport) in August, 2026, according to the Met Office. If the reported value falls exactly between two brackets, then this market will resolve to the higher range bracket. The resolution source for this market will be the Met Office, specifically the figure for August 2026 under "rain mm" at the https://www.metoffice.gov.uk/pub/data/weather/uk/climate/stationdata/heathrowdata.txt link once the Provisional figure for the whole month of August 2026 is released. If the relevant data is not available by November 7, 2026, 11:59 PM ET, another credible resolution source will be chosen. The resolution source for this market measures precipitation to 1 decimal place (e.g., 1.5), thus, this is the level of precision that will be used when resolving this market. Any revisions to precipitation recorded after Provisional data is released for this market's timeframe will not be considered for this market's resolution.**Persistent high-pressure patterns and minimal rainfall have kept August 2026 precipitation in London on track for an exceptionally dry month.** Official monitoring shows only about 8 mm accumulated through late August against a long-term average of roughly 50–53 mm, with just a handful of light rain days recorded. Forecasts for the final days (29–31 August) indicate modest additional totals of 5–7 mm from scattered showers and one wetter period, pointing to a final monthly sum likely below 20 mm. This places the <30 mm outcome as the clear market leader at 73.5% implied probability, consistent with the observed data and limited remaining accumulation window. Warmer-than-average temperatures (monthly mean around 21.5 °C, well above the 18.7 °C normal) and stable anticyclonic conditions have suppressed convective activity and Atlantic fronts. While longer-range model uncertainty or an unforecasted late surge could theoretically push totals higher, current observations and short-term guidance strongly favor staying well under the 30 mm threshold. The 30–40 mm bin retains secondary support at 23.3%, but probabilities for 50 mm+ outcomes remain minimal given the data.
