Flávio Bolsonaro's commanding lead in Mato Grosso do Sul stems from the state's Centre-West location and consistent backing for Bolsonarism in recent presidential cycles, where his father Jair Bolsonaro posted strong results. As the Liberal Party nominee, Flávio inherits this base among agricultural and rural voters, with a late-August Quaest poll showing him at 33% against Lula's 27% and single digits for rivals such as Ronaldo Caiado, Renan Santos, and Romeu Zema. Trader consensus at 92.3% reflects these polling trends and limited vote fragmentation on the right ahead of the October 4 first round. Shifts could occur if undecided voters (around 13%) move toward Lula in the final weeks, another right-wing candidate consolidates support, or turnout patterns differ from prior elections.
