A July poll showed Kash Heed at 20% support ahead of Sheldon Starrett and Alexa Loo, with nearly half of voters undecided amid a large field that also includes Henry Yao, Rob Howard, Mei Kang, and Dickens Cheung. Recent candidate announcements, slates for council seats, and an August debate on housing, public safety, the night market, and zoning have kept the race fragmented. The October 17 election date, ongoing nomination period, and cross-partisan appeal for some independents sustain the tight implied probabilities, as further polling shifts or consolidation among lower-polling options could alter the distribution before voting begins.
