The 2026 Idaho Official State Gun Question is a non-binding advisory measure on the November 3 ballot, stemming from House Bill 932 passed unanimously by the legislature and signed in April. Voters will select one of six historic firearms, including the Winchester Model 1894, Winchester Model 1873, Colt Peacemaker, M1 Garand, Colt M1911, and Remington Model 700, to guide future legislative action on an official state gun. With the election still over two months away and minimal public campaigning or polling data available, trader sentiment remains evenly distributed among the options and "other." The advisory status and possibility of the Legislative Council adding further choices before ballot finalization sustain the tight positioning. Late polling trends, candidate endorsements, or voter education efforts highlighting specific models' historical ties to Idaho could introduce separation ahead of election night.
